"What happens when you spill coffee on your atlas, find there is page missing, or has been printed incorrectly?"
Substitute "atlas" with "sat nav". Same outcome really but the coffee will dry out and the page(s) still probably legible. Sat nav no doubt toasted!0 -

You can get satnavs with a nice large screen, and Android tablet for example.
You also get the ability to scroll around the map with fingers rather than having to look for the little blue arrows then go hunting for page 327.0 -
Thank you all for your advice, suggestions and comments... I have today ordered the AA truckers atlas for deliver tomorrow (no local shops had one) which is a start.
He has been looking at the Snooper S7000 truckmate pro (does anyone have one of these?) just thinking of the UK one as won`t be travelling out of the country. It has a 7" wide screen (and a telly but won`t need this!!). They also do a S5000 with a 5" screen and no telly.... never having used a sat nav before even in a car its hard to imagine screen size. Is a bigger screen better? any advice from you experts would be great.
The other make he is going to look at as someone at works has one is a Garmin but from reading up on these the Snooper seem to offer more. Also do you subscribe to the speed camera updates and annual maps?
Why don`t they just put sat navs automatically into all cabs?
Thanks again your help is appreciated.0 -

The screen may be bigger but it doesn't show more information - it just shows the same information larger. When you zoom out it'll still remove roads as I described earlier.0 -

Ask your question on the UK trucking forums
Why don't they put them in? Money. They are offered as an option on pretty much all trucks.0
