We have around 50-100 vinyl lps from the 1960's and 70's. (Mainly rock e.g. Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Who). Any ideas please on the best way to sell them and declutter. Thanks.

You wont get much (if anything) for them unless they are rare and in Mint condition. It's worth speaking to a dealer/collector who should be able to tell you if they have any value.'The More I know about people the Better I like my Dog'

Thanks. I'm concerned that I might be ripped off. Looking at ebay, some like mine have gone for good prices but I suspect I can get more elsewhere????0

I would suggest a look at a copy of the Record Collector Guide. The book gives you the mint price for a record that's unplayed or played once and carefully stored. These records do exist. There may be a copy at your local library or they may be able to do an inter library loan.
There is a grid in the book that goes through the varying states of record and cover. I would look at each record, cover and label very carefully and compare this with the descriptions on the ebay sold items.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

            Hi anita,
As this isn't really an Old Style topic I've moved your thread over to the Ebay, Auctions, Car boot and jumble sales board to see if you can get more advice.

There have been a few threads asking similar things in the past so search this forum for 'vinyl' as there were lots of good suggestions.
'Completed listings' on Ebay is the best place to start - just check the final prices, especially for the ones you think are valuable.
When I sold mine I used pro cardboard mailers (which I got from Ebay) which work out at about 50p each - factor this into postage.
You are also likely to get lots of European buyers so be prepared to work out airmail costs - I sent quite a few to Europe and didn't have any problems!0

If you sell them somewhere online, let me know! I may well be interested in some.
If you have a local record shop, try there though. A friend took a copy of Nevermind by Nirvana in and they gave him 5 pounds for it, and I saw them selling it for 20. So you might be expecting them types of prices.0
