Searches and Accounts

Hello there.

Just after some information really. I applied last week for a Vanquis Card and got the "We'll be in touch" message. After phoning them I was accepted and was very pleased. I checked CreditExpert and Equifax and only CreditExpert had registered the search.

Fast forward to this week and the Account is showing on Equifax along with the limit of £500.:) However Equifax still aren't showing a search from Vanquis and the account isn't showing on CreditExpert at all?

I also applied for a Capital One card and that is showing as searched on both reports but is it likely that that will only show up on one if it is opened?
I just find it strange that Vanquis searched one report yet the card shows up on the other one.

Anyone else had much experience of this?

Hi,

And welcome, this is common practice for all card issuers. They often only search one or two agencys but will report to all three. As you have seen vanquis search experian but report to all three CRA (credit reference agencys). Cap one search both as you mention but again will report to all three. Its all to do with there risk profiles and how much they have to pay to use these agencys.
