Fast Track Passport Application, do kids need to be with me?

I have the chance to go on a last minute holiday with the kids and need to renew their passports PDQ. I have an appointment in London for this coming Sunday and suddenly questions are popping up !! Do the children have to be with me ?, my Daughter is 16, her child passport has expired and this will be her first adult passport, the Guy I spoke to on the phone knows this and said it was ok, but on the website, it says you can't use fast track for a First Adult Passport, does this mean, first passport ever, or the first passport after a child becomes an adult ?, any help would really be appreciated, thanks x

Don't know whether children need to be with you, but if you have had a passport as a child it'll be treated as a renewal not as a first adult passport(so no interview required)

as karent says it is classed as a renewal if you have had a child passport previous

Get your daughter to write you a letter giving you permission to submit the application (sometimes its better to have them with you just in case there's something wrong with the form or the photo - then it can be rectified there and then)
