My Fiat Punto has a strange intermittent fault, it turns over but does not start. Diagnostics do not show anything....although of course when it is tested it is actually starting ok!
Between the AA and the guy who fitted ( and now disconnected ) the car alarm, I have decided it may be a fault with either the key transmitter or the receiver attached to the immobiliser.
Could this be down to radio frequency interference? It always happens when I park at work where there are a lot of offices with various broadband connections etc. Alarm fitting guy even said he blames the change over to digital TV signal!
How much would this cost to repair/replace? Does anyone have any other suggestion as to what it could be?
