Hey everybody,
After reading lots of forum posts on the website and seeing how nice and supportive of each other you all are...I've decided to join to motivate myself to SAVE SAVE SAVE!
Would love to hear about any of your saving goals and how you're doing....its really inspirational to read how well some of you have done
I have a lot of plans for the future and after a chat with my mum decided to pick just one thing to save for at a time so it doesnt become overwhelming (why are mums ALWAYS right??)
So at the moment....i have a car to pay off by March 2014 , about 4800.
Wish me luck.....and good luck yourselves!! Hope to get to know you all a bit better

Best place to start is working out your current budget, and figure out how much you can afford to save each week/month (depends how often you get paid). The look over your budget to see if further savings can be made.
Once you've done this and feel comfortable with it (not leaving your self too short to have fun along the way).
MSE has a savings calculator to help you work out how much to save each month to reach your target -

Also take a look at the "up your income" board for inspiration of bringing in extra

Thanks for your advice
I like your point about leaving yourself with enough to have fun along the way..when i did a budget before I wasn't leaving myself with any money to go out once a month or so....very very depressing!!!
happy saving xxSaving plan #1 : CAR£300/ £48500
