Claiming on behalf of my Partner

I have had some success reclaiming PPI on my own behalf and would like to do the same for my partner. Sadly she shredded a lot of her financial records when we moved house 2 years ago. I know that she had various debts with credit card companies as I paid them off nearly 7 years ago in September 2005, are they too old to consider for a PPI claim?
Amounts and cards were as follows:
1st Direct £1616.00
GE Capital £186.00
JD Williams £253.00
Barclaycard £5150.00
AA Visa Card £1500.00
Halifax One £1500.00
Accucard£ 1500.00
She also took out two personal loans from Egg Bank, one repaid the other with a bit more on top (£25.5K - scares me to death even thinking of a personal loan of such a size!!) - the last loan was repaid with some of the proceeds from our house sale.
I contacted Egg on her behalf and was fobbed off with "no record" response.
Can I obtain relevant details from Egg and also the Credit Card companies on behalf of my partner or does she need to initiate the process? I have considered using a PPI claim company but assume people here would advise against this.
I look forward to receiving the wisdom of this crowd

If you use a claims co, you have to chase the paperwork up, they do not do this for you, all they do is put the complaint form in, this is the FOS form that is free, they post this to the bank and if you win they take a hefty % plus Vat off these wins.
your partner could just call the companies and see if they can find her,
With the settled debts, do you have any paperwork with the settlement figures on? if you do the loan/cc number could be there.
Failing that, you need to send Sar requests to each company, give as much info as you can to help them find the accounts, ask for all info they hold, enclose £10 per bank and give them 40 days to respond.

Amersall,
Thanks for the advice, I will dig out the SAR and send it off to the various companies.0
