JSA Worries

Hi there
I am due to start a full time job on the 16th and in the interim between leaving Uni and starting I have been on JSA just to pay for essentials.
For four days I was on holiday, paid for as a graduation gift, with my parents abroad and foolishly remembered when I got back that such things need to be declared however I didn't even register this as it was such a short holiday!
Today on my sign-on I told the advisor this, and they said that today I couldn't sign on and that next week I must attend an interview by which I sign off for those four days of holiday and then resign on - or something along those lines, as I was quite nervous at the sign on session.
I'm a little bit worried by all this, and am scared as what to expect of the interview - I haven't done anything to intentionally mislead.
Can anyone offer any advise?

Well it's good that you told them this rather than somehow they found out and came after you.
Just tell them the truth and bring paperwork detailing the expenses (that you didn't pay for it) and all should be well.0 -
I agree with jumbocod, be honest and supply proof of who paid etcWell Behaved women seldom make history

What does it matter who paid for it? The problem is going abroad without informing the correct department, not how the holiday was paid for.0

They don't care who paid for it at all. The issue as stated above is whether you were "available for work" and not letting them know of the holiday in advance.0

It sounds like nonsense, someone in your position would still be due the money for the rest of your singing period so you should have signed.0

They don't like "not being informed". Had OP given notice and said he was going with access to the internet etc
They take umbridge at the "after notice" - strange world given the internet is available to us all (no matter where we are) and 4 days is here nor there in the scheme of things.
In reality he should never have mentioned it - but now he has .....0 -
You do not need to worry about the 'meeting' next week, all they are going to do is get you to sign off for the period you were out of the country.
You cannot claim JSA whilst you are holidaying abroad because you are not available for work.
It does not matter who paid for the holiday, there is nothing sinister in the meeting. I am however a bit miffed as to why they did not just get you to sign off while you were in the office and then book you a Rapid Reclaim straight away. :beer:Skint but Debt Free at Last :T0
