can anyone tell me what the point is of all this; what difference in the statistical chances does entering every day make???0

Lets say there are 20,000 entrants in total.
You enter once so you your chances are 1 in 20,000
You enter twice so your chances are 1 in 10,000
You enter three times so your chances are down to 1 in 6,666
You enter 4 times so your chances are 1 in 5,000
You enter every day until the end of June and you would be somewhere round 1 in 225 (This is much better than in 20000 and much much better than hoping to use your lottery winnings to buy the car instead).0 -
Um, are these figures correct? I can see they would be if the total was being divided into separate groups each time, but I think as it is (and I'm open to contradiction), then your chances (on the same figures above) are 1 in 20,000 if you enter once, 2 in 20,000 if you enter twice, 3 in 20,000 if you enter three times and so on, because the draw is only being done once, even if you're allowed to enter many times. So it's not quite such good odds as it seems at first, but still a lot better than having just one entry.0

So is 2 chances in 20000 not the same as 1 in (20,000/2) = 1/10,000
and 3 chances in 20,000 not the same as 1 in (20,000/3) = 1/6666.666666
???
Each individual entry would be 1/20,000 but the more entries you have then the better the odds. If each entry went into a separate draw then the for each would be 1/20,0000
