Ebay & Tax man?

Paypal have contacted me to say that I have received £4,500 in funds over the last year and....

"PayPal is required by law to comply with European Union Anti-Money
Laundering regulations to collect information from customers when they
receive more than the set limit in total payments. Please log into your
account, go to the Account Overview page, and follow the instructions there
about how to provide the required information. These steps need to be
completed as soon as possible to comply with this regulation."

I am not so much worried about this, but of the tax implications.....The stuff I sell is baby clothes & oys, my old clothes, a few 2nd hand buggies here and there and cars that my dad inherits.

What would I do about tax?

If you buy stuff to sell you must pay tax.

I don't buy anything to sell, as I say its our old clothes/toys....buggies on behalf of friends and my dads cars that he is given by his old customers when they pass on - just old bangers - the good ones go in the papers
  • You don't have anything to worry about then - the paypal money laundering note is just routine, it won't take long to fill in
