Hi all,
First post in the forum.
I am from New Zealand and just sent in my drivers licence to get changed to a UK licence. I have had my full licence in nz for 10 years.
Now when I access these comparison website to get quotes for can insurance, when asked how long have you had your licence for what do I put in?
a) 1 month--> quote is terribly expensive
b) 10 years-->quote is much more reasonable
I presume i put in option a unfortunately as NZ licence is not the same as a UK licence...
Anyway advice from anyone, especially expats from AU, NZ, Canada etc will be greatly appreciates.
Thanks!

Use an Insurance broker, which you will find easier.

For New Zealand, they should allow you the number of years of similar driving experience and not penalise you for the short amount of time with a UK licence.The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
