Morning all
worry wart can you explain what i need to buy in asda can i just buy yogurts and juice and it will compare i am doing sliming world so get through loads of muller lights so this would be great for me and ds gets through loads of juice what is the name of the jucie pls thanks so much
It's taken me a few attempts to get my head around this and even now I'm still sweating until the next day when I stick the receipt in. I've been caught out once already by cutting it too close and being on the hop with no backup items.
You need a minimum of 8 unique comparable items of which one needs to compare (obviously!). Each flavour of muller counts as one unique item towards the 8. You could go wild and get 10 unique flavours and your £4 receipt will compare but my Asda don't stock all the ones I like so I'm stuck for 8 items. Someone earlier mentioned the smart price stuff to make up the 8 like mushy peas, custard powder etc.
Things like books, CDs/DVDs, clothes & batteries don't compare (that's where I lost out on one). I used the L'oreal coupons in Asda last month. As it was Father's Day I wanted to treat the old man to a bottle of Bombay Sapphire. The litre bottle was £26odd but after spending just over £50 and using coupons and getting the price check, the whole lot cost less than th ebottle of gin if you factor the APG into the original shop instead of your next shop. I know everyone does that bit differently but my Asdas shops are only ever APG ones so I factor the coupons into the shop that produced it.No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -

Exactly what I'm trying to figure out.
I nearly went with the intention of buying just juice and yoghurts :eek:My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -

Sorry missed a bit by waffling. If you are only getting the lights then even if you only got the 2 flavours I know 100% compare (raspberry & cranberry and strawberry) you would need 6 more unique items. The orange juice would count as 1 more so you'd still need 5 more items. Do you have kids? The individual fruit pouches are 6 for £2 so you could get one of each flavour of those and they count for the APG but don't compare.
Also don't forget that Asda compare to all 4 big supermarkets ie Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsburys and Morrisons. In NI they don't compare Morrisons as we don't have any but they do compare Waitrose (as far as I know there are none here). So you need to target your shopping against one and only one of the other stores. If you get the yogurts which are comparing favourably against Tesco but get something else that compares badly in Tesco but good in Sainsburys then you'll lose out if you get what I mean.
It's the same as the Sainsburys Brand Match - it compares against other supermarkets but it doens't pick & choose the offers from each so again, you have to target your shop very carefully. Tesco is a lot easier at the minute but as it's changing it will be more like Asda. That leaves the Brand Match which doesn't have a minimum number of items, just the £20 minimum spend which I used to buy alcohol in combination with the nectar bonus points or £3 off £30 coupons etc.No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -
worry-wart wrote: »As someone said, you need 8 unique items with at least one comparable. I've been using the kids squeezy fruit pouches (in the custard & jelly aisle) to make up the 8 items if I'm stuck. The yogurts/rice/corners all are unique items. I think as long as each item has a different barcode it is classed as unique but don't quote me on that.
As for the Muller, here's what I have
Rice
Strawberry, apple, original - all compared
vanilla custard, limited edition (toffee apple?) - should compare
NOT TOFFEE OR RASPBERRY
Corners
peach & apricot - compared
strawberry, blueberry, red cherry, blackberry & raspberry, Greek Style Honeyed Apricot - should compare
Crunch corner
toffee hoops, chocolate balls - compared
banana flakes, strawberry shortcake - should compare
NOT CHOCOLATE CRUNCH
Yogurts
strawberry, mandarin, raspberry & cranberry - compared
toffee, vanilla, cherry, vanilla & chocolate, limited edition mint - should compare
NOT RHUBARB OR COCONUT & CHOC
Hope that helps.
i bought the 10 for 4 pound deal today. also bought some value items to try to get a comparable shop. not expereienced either but i did womble a receipt and got at 1.36 APG:T
i bought value coffee, long grain rice, lemonade, cola, toilet tissue, ham, chocolate mousse, toilet rim and toilet blocks.
so fingers crossed.grocery challenge 9.86/600 -

You want something more specific? I think this should help -
Strawberry rice
Original rice
Apple rice
Strawberry Light
Mandarin Light
Raspberry & cranberry Light
Peach & apricot corner
Strawberry corner
Toffee Hoops crunch
Chocolate Digestive crunch
Don Simon Premium Fresh Orange Juice with Bits (1L)
You don't have to get one of all the flavours above as long as you get 10 in total and if you buy nothing else, you need at least 8 flavours or if you get the orange juice, at least 7 different flavours.
I hope this next bit is right -
Asda
Muller - 10 for £4
Juice - £1
Total - £5
Tesco
Muller - 10 for £3
Juice 3p
Total - £3.03
The APG should give you the difference plus 10% so £2.03 plus 20p but with the glitch (?) it sees
Muller - 6 for £3
Muller - 4 for £2.40 (think they're all 60p each)
Juice - £1
Total - £6.40
The APG then gives the difference of £3.37 plus the 20p so £3.57. You only spent £5 so a net cost of £1.43 for 10 mullers and a litre of orange juice. Basically you're getting an extra £1+ back if I've understood quoia right. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -
I went back into education at 30, did 2 years evening course to make up for no a levels, then 3 years degree course (teacher training). Was hard work as dd was a baby when I started but now I have been teaching for 5 years.
Sometimes it felt too much or never ending, but I got there.
With regards to the work, assignments, dissertations etc. take whatever help you can get.
What are you hoping to study?
I am tempted to try to do my masters while working so it couldn't have been that bad.

Is there a price cap on APG?
Can I buy more than 10 bottles of juice in one go along with some bigger items which are coming up on Moneysupermarket at Tesco £5.04 and Asda £8.40 and get the difference back on the whole lot or am I better sticking to 10 bottles of fruit juice and some cheap items and the same with the yoghurts?
I've never done a targetted shop in A's either and not sure how it worksMy husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.0 -

No cap for the voucher but £100 each month for the household (presuming you don't enter a make believe address - it doesn't check). You are limited to 10 of one item though so 10 bottles of orange or 10 strawberry muller rice. Anything above that won't be compared. Think for weighed items it's 10kg or something but I'd have to check. My biggest voucher was well over £20 for a £60 spend. Next best was £13 voucher for a £50 spend (well £35 after coupons). No one can make you feel inferior without your consent ~ Eleanor Roosevelt0 -
Afternoon, am just reading about this apg with the orange juice, on the apg it says at least 8 items & at least 1 must compare which would be the orange juice? So could I buy another 7 different items that don't compare as the orange juice would be the one that does?
Really can't get my brain round apg0
