Northern Rock Silver Savings Interest Rate. What's going on?

NR increased (only slightly) their monthly interest rate last month from 5.70%to 5.71%!, so I figured that my interest this month would be ever so slightly higher. No way! In fact, it's gone down about £6 and I haven't made any withdrawals. I have sent them an email to query this and I would suggest that all MSE'rs with this account to check yours now.

it might be because it is 28 days of interest (from 19/02 to 19/03) rather than the more usual 30 or 31 days of interest.0

Maybe, you just can't win, can you?0

Unfortunately I think changing the number of days in a month is beyond the banks powers.0

I got my monthly interest today too and Yes, it has gone down from last month.
It is simply because February only has 28 days - January had 31 days. Less days = less interest0 -
Thanks. I was banking on the extra six quid too!0
