The first thing suggested was a boot cd, create on daughters laptop using imgburn (create disc from image function), and boot from it, then update and scan
You need to post more information on machine, operating system, and hang around for longer to answer questions - if you want to fix it anytime soon!!

Actually I'm having terrible probs with safari on my macbook. Just crashes.
Chrome is working fine but I miss safari and keep clicking on it by mistake.
Currently running Sophos (avast was a nightmare) so hoping that comes up with something

Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53)
Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
This is just from about my mac. My hard drive is actually about 100gb or something crazy. It's the ram that is 2gb. I know that.
So any tips worth while

I thought I had it fixed but like it's still playing up....anyone any ideas what's up with safari? When I open more than 2 tabs it just hangs
Yes I have cleared the DNS cache and run like CC Cleaner as well...
