Beware: 1st call connect claims company lies

I have just been cold called by a 1st call connect about reclaiming PPI on loans and mortgages. I get a number of these calls like everyone else but this one went into a spiel before i had a chance to cut him off and he spouted off a number of lies which could be considered fraudulent misrepresentation.

These were:
1 - That I had loans and mortgages with PPI and that i had been mis-sold and there was money waiting to collect (i have never had PPI and there is no such pot of money)

2 - That the banks have been found guilty of selling PPI and have to refund (no they haven't)

3 - when told I dont have it, he then said it would be hidden and I did actually have it (another lie)

I interrupted him at that point and gave him a mouthful. I have reported it to the ministry of justice and suggest anyone getting called by this comapny does the same. They have also ended up on the FSA's warnings and scams list as well listing unregulated companies:

I can get 4-5 of these clowns calling me a day, I even answer my phone by saying "what are you selling?"
I had one very insistent joker cold call me on the office mobile (God knows where he got the number) when I pointed out that I am running the call centre for a bank's ppi refund dept and that I would make sure that I would personally delay every single one of the claims his company is involved with if they ever called me again and hey presto- never heard from them ever again. If only I could sort out the tw*ts that hound me at home every day.....

It is unfortunate that you cannot see them when they call on the telephone. Otherwise you would be able to tell when they are lying.

Normally i wouldnt bother posting as I get so many of these cold callers. However, I could not believe the cheek of this one and how blatant the lies were.

Why aren't you both registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS)?

I'm registered and I've never received even one of these calls. All I now get are spam calls from abroad occasionally.

TPS stopped many but I have TPS and still got "these clowns". Claims companies seem to be a law unto themselves.

Well, it certainly made a BIG difference to me...

it certainly cuts out most. However, it doesnt cut out the international calls or companies that are willing to lie and scam.
