Remember the 5yr bond by Newcastle a few years ago ? paying 5% & offering an early exit (180 days) with no loss of interest ?? Just wondering if any BS or banks are doing something similar at the moment, probably not as good as that offer, but just similar..Any ideas ??

BM Savings is one that allows early access on their range of fixed term bonds (although the rates they offer are not the best out there for fixed term bonds):

Earlier access subject to penalty, depending on term outstanding: up to 5 years - 365 days, up to 4 years - 320 days, up to 3 years - 270 days, up to 2 years - 180 days, 1 year or less - 90 days.
The AA and Halifax also allow early access on their range of fixed term bonds subject to an early access charge dependent on the length of term remaining at the time of accessNever let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -

Five Year Bond (Issue 1) required just 90 days' notice. Happy times!

I am not aware of any fixed rate accounts available to open now that allow access with notice but without penalty.
M&S offer closure on demand for a fixed £100 penalty which could be beneficial when larger sums are involved.
