Thursday 5th July - What small DFW things will you do ?!?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:

Morning  been up since 6! Really peed off about an incident at work yesterday. Walked out at 4.30 and am meeting with the director this morning to discuss it but now am thinking about getting another job! Have been up searching for vacancies and have found 5 that I am going to apply for!

Anyway got that off of my chest :p things for today:
  • check banking
  • all meals from stores - check fridge freezer before I leave and work out whats for dinner
  • swagbucks and onepoll
  • list 3 things on ebay
  • make additions to & send cv off to one job
  • do application for vancancy closing tomorrow
  • go for a run
  • get dd to call landlord and organise a couple of repairs
  • go for a run & sauna

That's all - try not to be unprofessional despite the people in my office!

Have a great day x

Morning dnms! Thanks for starting! Sorry to hear about your work! Hope the meeting goes as well as!!

While attempting to fix my old iPhone, I dropped the one I use now and it smashed the back and the flash is constantly on!!! Can't believe it!! ::eek: so now I have a broken iPhone, and a smashed iPhone! Not having much luck with this one since it went down the toilet!!! Usually I would be down the apple shop buying a new one but I'm going to stick with it as its still working as a phone! Just doesn't look great!! :-/

    List for today:
    • check bank, I brought my brother an iPad cover with a voucher code yesterday, so that will do for his bday in a couple of weeks! :) need to transfer money in from "birthday fund"
    • call vanquis as still haven't received the £3 refund from them, or any confirmation that the account has been closed!
    • check credit cards- all ok!
    • PAD £1 to small cc
    • forgot lunch so going to go to T and but something cheap!
    • drink lots of water
    • look into the prices for swimming at the local pool, I need to do more exercise and the prices are pretty reasonable I think
    • try again to fix the broken phone... And try not to break anyone else in the process!!
    • cinema tonight with bf, booked online to get discount and used student card, will buy "film snacks" at lunch :)

    That's it I think!

    Good morning everyone!

DNMS - sorry to hear about your work! It's horrible when stuff like that happens :(

bt - you sound like my OH when it comes to phones! If you are looking for something nice for cheap in mr T for lunch, try the lighter choices Tuscan Bean soup. It's really tasty and filling for about 55p :)

My mse :money: things for today are:

Charge phone in work (honestly you'd think it was a landline the amount it's plugged in...)

Check online banking. Am sure that cc statement should be out (ah yes, a text from barclaycard; £1 interest on NW cc, £40 from onepoll has arrived into account too :)

Got my appraisal today  hate these kind of things...:(

Breakfast, lunch and dinner from stores

    More overtime

Hope everyone has a good day, will check back later :)

DNMS - sorry about the work dramz! good on you channelling the energy into something better.
    Bt1- rubbish iphone!

Had a lovely and not so pricey eve yesterday - some of us got together for a cheap and cheerful 4th of July BBQ / bonfire at a friends. I contributed a huge baked ziti, and used the excuse to make a big vat of sauce which will be going it tonight or tomorrow's meals.

    Today in MSE:
    - phone interview at lunch time, was meant to be yesterday but they mucked up the times so here we are! 2nd interview for the best paid option so fingers crossed.
    - see how funky the chili in the fridge is (we dont have a freezer:() and decide if it can be made into pilaf for dinner, otherwise meatball night using last nights leftover sauce
    - bike everywhere needed
    - meal plan for next week

Hugs to all that need them.

    Morning All,

DNMS - Sorry to hear about your situation at work, it's awful when things like that happen. I know it's difficult because work is a big part of a person's life but try and remember it's not the be all and end all - we should work to live not live to work, that's what I try and tell myself anyway! Stick to your guns though!

bt1 - Sorry about the phone situation. I know a few people with broken iPhones, maybe it's a new trend!

    Today...

    Check banks
    Busy at work :(

    Hi everyone, lovely day!

De-cluttering the house and found some more stuff for ebay!

Dug out dinner from the freezer so no tesco run today! Which is good as I always come home with chocolate.

Will start on the exercise bike tonight. Need to loose lb's as well as save them!

Good afternoon everyone. It’s a rather showery day here today.
DNMS – Thanks for starting us off today

So far today I have bid on some craft item on ebay and been to a triage doctor’s appointment and my chest pains have turned out to be a suspected viral infection and I have been given tablets and a follow up appointment for next week.

My list for the rest of the day is:
    :)[STRIKE]Catch up with emails[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Watch craft items on ebay [/STRIKE]– I’ve set a maximum amount so that I can hopefully at least make my money back
:)[STRIKE]Look on school website and fill out dates for next term[/STRIKE]
:)[STRIKE]Look on amazon for some craft items[/STRIKE] – I’ve got a voucher to use Managed to get what I was looking for and even better I'm getting it for free as voucher covered it and I still have money left on it :j
:)[STRIKE]Collect up washing [/STRIKE]– wm is having a day of as no full loads
    :)[STRIKE]Surveys and check one poll[/STRIKE]
    :)Do some studying
:)[STRIKE]Take kids to the circus –[/STRIKE] using half price tickets
:)[STRIKE]Pick up item that I am getting from freecycle[/STRIKE] - saves me at least £20 :j
:)[STRIKE]Do work that is in for today[/STRIKE] Two projects completed today and I have one to finish off tomorrow. I have also managed to get a project in to do on Tuesday:)
:)Sort the returns for Mr T
:)[STRIKE]Update diary/July task list and make a to do list for tomorrow[/STRIKE]

I think that is everything that I need to do today. Hope everyone has a good Thursday x
    Aiming to get Debt Free.

My Uncle sells photo's through Redbubble. Not sure how good they are but it's his sideline to earn extra cash!
