Metro bank - apply online?

I am looking at opening a second bank account, mainly as a "spending" account, and so far Metro bank are looking good, because they offer a MasterCard debit card with free cash withdrawals abroad.

However, I can't see any way that you can apply online or by post, the website suggests it must all be done in branch, and I live on the opposite side of the country to London...

Anyone know?
Oh, you wee bazza!

Yes it all needs to be done in branch. There are no online/post ways of opening a current account with them.

That's a bit poo, they'd have me as a customer in a heartbeat. I like their business style and the free foreign exchange is an attractive option.

If I haven't found another bank that I want to go with I'll just open an account next time I'm in London, as they print cards in branch.
