I've been shown them and can get copies of them yes.0

The tax implications are only a tiny bit of the problem with this!
It looks like a pretty textbook case of embezzlement/fraud/theft and when/if it gets caught out the perpetrator and anyone who colluded with them could expect to go down the steps for it (think yourself if you know and don't report it or assist in any way).Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
I've been asked to wait until the senior member of staff deals with the situation with the VC funder and then the person involved on Monday. After that I will be reporting it to HMRC and the Police...0

Personally I'd be getting copies and going to the police myself. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -

If the VC goes to the police themselves, then that leaves you vulnerable. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
The VC are going to handle it internally as it would compromise the reason for funding of which is likely to earn them considerbly more than then money that has been taken.0

An employee does not have to sign a written contract of employment. The employer is supposed to provide written particulars but they do not have to be signed by either party. I have been employed for nearly 3 years) that I was an employee and not self-employed.
I believe the situation is going to turn extremely sour and extremely quick (i.e. in the next couple of days) and I've been advised to make my excuses not to turn into work until the situation is resolved. You are an employee, you should turn up for work - unless you have a request in writing from the "senior member of staff" (if they are senior to you with the authority to issue such instructions to you).
My concern is as a result of all of this, a) am I liable for any tax/ni that he hasn't paid on my behalf and b) do I have to give him any notice given I have no contract (I assume a weeks notice per year otherwise?) As mentioned on your other thread, the requirement for an employee is one week (that is for someone without written terms of employment which may require more notice). The statutory notice required from an employee does not increase with completed years of service, only the notice due from the employer increases in that way.

I have an email stating my hours, pay etc but nothing relating to noticed given or implied.
At the moment I am on leave so I'm not expected to but understand my requirements to turn up.
Thanks for the info0 -
Are these invoices definitely raised in your name, ie. is it your name and address at the top of the invoice, resulting in the appearance that payment should be made direct to you?
Or are they invoices from Company A to Company B with the line detail being something along the lines of 'Monthly Re-charge for John Doe'?0
