Does anyone have any experience of staying in one of these, and experience of the park in general ?

I have but it was a few years back so it may not be valid now! We had a great holiday there with our 4 kids. The site was great, the beach was brilliant. I have been thinking of trying it again.

We stayed there a few years ago.

Did not stay in a tent but did not think much of the site. Also had to pay more to upgrade to a gold caravan because the silver was so awful and after a 6 hour journey was far too tired to argue with them.

Beach is fantastic but you do have a fair walk down the cliffs to get to it. Not so bad going down but hard going if you have had a long day on the beach.

I seem to remember them having a bus shuttle to take you down and back again but from memory it did not go down all the way(but could be wrong about that) and stopped quite early.

We spent hardly any time on the site itself but used it as a great base to explore from.

From memory the tents were at the entrance to the site so they were the furthest away from the beach.

We went there a few years ago. Our chalet was skanky, and they closed the shop ridiculously early. I wouldn't go there again, although to be fair they did appear to be doing up the chalets and some of the caravans looked very nice.

The walk back up from the beach is a killer, although the beach itself is stunning.

hum - i like Perran Sands - but would never book a chalet as they are very old and run down BUT i did look at the Super Tents and Safari Tents and they looked ok - SAFARI tents were amazing! Super Tents looked ok if you don't want the hassle of bringing in your own tent. A typical square ish house tent with camp beds.

The tent bit of the site is at the front of the site so further away from the sea BUT the touring site is set in the sand dunes (well the whole of Perran Sands is in the sand dunes..) and has an adventure playground next to it, , and lots of big sand dunes for kids to play in.... so its a walk to the sea but not to the sand if you see what i mean....

Yes, the walk down to the sea is steep and windy and a pain to walk back with tired kids or if they need to go to the loo....

But i liked the site itself, and would go back but not on a sun deal as i would not want the chalets.

Went there 2 years ago to perran sands and stopped in a challet not a good park and walk to beach was a trek.

Going back to perranporth in August but this time stopping in the town next to the beach for much cheaper in an apartment.

Perranporth is a superb place and the beach with all the caves and rock pools are brill for kids, a walk to the far end of the beach is well worth it for the rock pools.
