Current Accounts you can Switch too that are Willing to take your OD as well?

Hi all,

So i"m looking to move away from Halifax after 20 years of loyal service, to a cheaper account that doesn't charge me extortionate rates for anything and everything.

My question is that embarrassingly, I'd have to bring along with me a 2k OD. Are there any bank accounts you guys know of that would allow me to transfer the 2k over with me? I was looking at the Santander 123 Account but have heard sooooo many bad things about them.

Much appreciated!

Cheers in advance.

EBM

Moving to a different bank will not guarantee that you'll be approve for an overdraft with that bank yet alone for an overdraft of up to £2000!

Santander will aim to match at 0% and no daily fees for 4 months

do the application in branch if you decide to as matching an O/D involves showing proof etc and this can take a while via internet etc

When I opened my then A&L acc they matched my HSBC overdraft. I recently switched to Nationwide and while I was doing the application online it asked if I wanted an overdraft, and was approved for a £1500 OD immediately.

Certainly banks will consider you for an overdraft, how much they are willing to give will depend on your credit worthiness, income and to some degree what account you are looking to open with them.
  • Thanks for your replies. I'll give Santander a go and see how far I get with that.
