Critical Illness Insurance Claim Deadline

I got a letter from my Endowment provider stating I needed to nearly double payments to meet my objectives.
The letter also stated I had critical illness cover. I had not realised this.
I was diagnosed just over two years ago with MS. I have checked the policy document and MS is covered. Problem is, there is a 13 week time limit for claiming.
Have I blown it? It is bad enough having this wretched disease. Don't know how I can take the knowledge of knowing I could have claimed on insurance that would have helped me if and as the disease progresses.

Whilst they like you to claim within a time period they will consider claims outside of this and they have to treat you fairly. Over time, it gets harder for the insurer to verify information.
