Transfer of money to my account - Last digit on account number was wrong....

Is there a chance it can be gotten back?
Basically it was for a not insignificant amount, and I've used this link
http://www.postcodeanywhere.co.uk/demos/bankvalidator.aspx
to check if the account it has been sent to is valid. It comes up with an X in the various fields except the banks sort code details.
Checking my account fills all of the blanks that were previously there.
It was from my parents to me and I feel horrible that they might have just lost some cash.....
Any help and advice is very appreciated.

Ask the sending bank to check where it went.
Don't expect them to fall over themselves to help.0 -
Ok, might have jumped the gun a little.
Fortunately the bank was very good, and straight forward about things(and my check was correct) the money just got bounced back to the bank and they were going through checks at the time to send it back to the parents account.
So all is now right in my world again, and I can pick my backside back off the floor.0 -
I don't know about yours, but my parents are OAPs, and to stop things like this happening, I ask them for a cheque if they want to give me money for xmas/birthday/etc and don't have the ready cash. Far less likely of things going wrong, even if it takes longer.0
