Welcome finance - £69.95 JUST TO APPLY!!!
Options
Hi,
Has anyone enquired about a loan with Welcome Finance?
I enquired last month, filled in the form on-line, stupidly entered my bank details and then was absolutely bombarded with emails, txts and phone calls from various loan companies.
I was contacted by Welcome and i told them i did not want a loan with them, or anyone else as I had decided against it. Fortunately I had read the T&C's and noticed that I had to canx the application within 14day in writing or be charged £69.95. I did this 3 days after the initial application.
Yesterday I checked my bank and £69.95 has been deducted from my account! I tried to contact them earlier today and the recorded message on the premium number just tells you to email them.
Later today a threatening letter arrived in the post from Welcome. It states that if I try to get my bank to dispute the payment or claim I know nothing about it they will prosecute me and I will be liable for hefty fines as they "do not tollerate it"
Secondly, and more concerning is that they say they have the IP address of my computer which they will use as evidence!!!
Whilst I am furious about this and want to get my money back I wondered if anyone else had experienced this with these crooks and how to go about it.
Also - are they legally allowed to store peoples IP addressed from their computers? Surely this must be some breech of data protection?
Furthermore threatening to prosecute and fine you for challenging them?
Any advise would be much appreciated before I contact these people.
Also - I strongly advise to steer well clear of Welcome Finance!!

Just to comment on the IP address, an ip address is not an identifiable piece of data so it wouldn't breach the DPA to store such information.
They would need to get a court order to get your internet provider (ISP) to release which internet account was linked to that IP at that time.0 -

Firstly...
Welcome Finance dont offer loans anymore.
you have applied here:
http://www.welcomeloansuk.com/
and here is where they state there is a fee:
https://www.welcomeloansuk.com/payment-information.asp
If your not offered a loan within 3mths, then you can request a refund in writing. again stated in the above link.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -
stupidly entered my bank details
There you have it in one. Never, ever, give your bank details to these bottom feeders. You should get your money back eventually, less a £5 fee they are allowed to keep.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -
you probably want to amend your thread title from 'Welcome Finance' to 'Welcome Loans'.......different company0

Im currently waiting on a reply after sending a notice of action, they have passed me from pillar to post all the way,and im 100% expecting to have to take this to small claims to get my money back.
They will make you wait 14 days then tell you to write to there legal compliance officer, which will go unanswered
At first they will email you but then they will ignore you, there phone goes unanswered.
They are thieves and scammers who use a poorly built website to trick you into believeing you will get a loan
Oh and lets not forget the barrage of texts/emails you will recieve over the coming days/weeks/months
Dont mess about send everything recorded delivery and save all the info for the court case or you will not see a penny of your money ever again.:beer:0 -

Welcome finance stopped offering loans because of this company, if anything linking the 2 could maybe help by forcing welcome finance to take action against this outfit of crooks:beer:0 -

You clearly dont have a clue....... Welcome masked their figures.... and were forced to close shop.... not because of some wee ditty broker.Promo codes are never always cheaper..... isnt that right EuropCar?0 -

Then i retract that statement, but the fact remains people will confuse the two companys and assume there the same.
Im just suggesting that linking the two will help anybody searching welcomeloans determine that they are not connected, and would seem from what you say are equally corrupt and immoral.:beer:0 -
There was and possibly still is a message on Welcome Finance site about this lot and they are not affliated in any way.
OP follow the refund procedure, do everything in writing and if you have problems, then threaten them with passing on copies of everything to the regulators.
You may end up with a fight for a few months or more, but you'll eventually get your money back minus £5 usually which they are normally allowed to keep.0 -
I came across this company a few years ago and their website is setup that you think you are getting a loan with them and of course you might well put your bank details in.
If their setup is the same as a few years ago, all you will get from them is a list of loan companies which you will have to fill in multiple application forms.
I also came across a similar company can't remember their name but, they send you a letter saying you have been approved for a loan but first, you must send them an admin fee.
It's not something we normally make a habit out of but, you must read the small print everytime.
Some people just take the loss and the others that get their money back, the company makes a fiver. Company wins everytime.
I hope you get your money back.0
