The techie board is alien to me, I am scared, but I keep the faith that as MSE'ers you will be gentle :j
My printer has gone on strike. It is connected wirelessly on my wi-fi, but I thought I'd be really clever and removed it from my PC and re-install to see if that worked.
Er yeah it didn't.
I have now asked my PC to search for a wireless printer and it cannot "see" it.
I printed off the network configuration sheet, and the printer is on and apparently connected.....so why can't my PC see it?
Many thanks for any help......

Probable cause:
The printer is getting it's IP address automatically via DHCP. This means in can, and does, change from time to time.
Your PC is looking for the printer at the IP address it had when it was set up, but the printer has moved without leaving a forwarding address
Solution:
Set a static IP address in the printer's configuration menu (read manual to find out how or post full make/model details of printer and someone else might read the manual for you! ), then delete and add the printer again, manually setting the IP address. How do I add a signature?0 -
