With clutch control there is a sweet spot that causes the car to fire forward at very fast speed.
It's inbetween stalling and setting off normally.
Can anyone tell me what it's called and also is it safe for the car to do this or will I destroy the clutch?

If you have poor tyres the wheels will spin or pass it on to the clutch. If you have a worn clutch that will slip or pass it on to the gearbox. The gearbox is the most expensive bit to fix and that's why the other components usually give out 1st.0

It is called (manual) launch control, and best used on dry roads, a car with good tyres (they won't stay good for very long though:D), and a nice, smooth, progressive clutch.
If you hold on to the high revs and slip the clutch for too long, then it will burn out.
You need a clutch which releases and lets the car go quickly.
Alfas are generally good.0 -

If its nearly stalling then its not launching as fast as it can.
You need as many revs as you can get away with. 1rpm too many and the wheels spin.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Are we getting confused here? It doesn't get you away fast or anything, but it's where the clutch is meant to be when moving off - it's called the BITE POINT. Nothing to do with revs or launch control or firing forward fast - that sounds like stalling to me!0

Stalling or slipping the clutch so it redlines because its slipping.
But it sounds fast because of teh fast rise in revs. As the clutch vapourises more material.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
