:(:(Hi, Im wondering if anyone else has suffered this, im sure unusual problem, as we pay for care insurance to protect us..:D
I have/had a Saab, & had a crash, back in Feb 12, when we were hit by bad weather conditions.. No other party was inolved, just the central reservation, resulting in the front end of my car being bashed in..
Fortunately I am insured with AVIVA!! So paying my hard earned money to them, should reasure me that I am in safe hands....:T
WEll.. now 5 months in, I still have no car,, They do keep contact with me tho, they send me text messages every two weeks to tell me that they are aither waiting for parts for my car, or they still havent got parts for my car. which is most decent!!
Saab actually went into administration back in February, so it is unlikely that they will be able to get the parts at all.. :(.. AVIVA clearly do not want to pay out for my car, but are also unable to repair it...
I would appreciate any similiar experiences, outcomes & advise.. thanks..

I presume you have a curtesy car? Personally i would leave them to it.

Take as long as they like whilst i treat their car as my own. Without the costs of running it.

    Hi J.Law70

I'm sorry to see your message and that you've been kept waiting for so long. I can assure you that our Aviva claims team will be handling your claim as quickly and efficiently as possible. If you'd like to email your claim number, full name, date of birth and postcode to social@aviva.co.uk I'd be happy to look into this for you and see if there is anything further that can be done.

    Kind Regards,

  • Thanks everyone,
Yes I eventually got a courtesy car, after a fight & two months into my claim.
I am getting no straight answers from AVIVA. I started a formal complaint back in March, but have had no joy, apart from the same as iv heard before, that they cannot get the parts for my car, being a bumper & headlight...I am thinking my only way forward is to approach the Ombudsman.. Makes you wonder why you pay money to these companies, when they do not provide service you expect, especially as they see fit to double your premium..

Any reply from the Rep above?

Would you allow them to use 2nd hand parts? Not sure if they would allow it though?

But if you cant get new parts then, Not much else.

Write it off and pay you out?
