Sainsburys credit card PPI

I've had a Sainsburys credit card since June 2003. I did not apply for this card but was approached in-store where a helpful gentleman completed the form which I signed.
I have never filled in a form for PPI for this card and as far as I knew, I didn't have any. I checked my credit card statement ages ago to make sure I wasn't paying it and there is no mention of it on the statement.
This week I have received an Annual Review of Optional PPI where it shows the average monthly cost of PPI in the last year..... and asking if I want to continue with it.....
Does this mean I have been paying PPI for this card without knowing....?

If they were charging you for PPI, it would appear on your monthly statements and be easy to spot.
Ring them and ask them why they've written to you. Could simply be a mistake.0 -
Phoned them today and apparently I have been paying PPI on this credit card for the last nine years.
After checking statement (and being told on phone) 'credit care' is PPI.............I'm not sure what I thought credit care meant but didn't realise it was PPI.
Am I just dense....:(0 -

Hi DCFC79
I've private messaged you because I wasn't sure if I could put the number on the forum.0 -
You should post the number here as well, others who only lurk could find it useful and it's very much allowed.0

Have a look at Saynoto0870 for an alternative generic number.
Good luck OPmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Another number ive just come across is 0845 601 4034, i rung the other number and i was a bit perplexed shall we say as the person who picked up the phone said HBOS but they must provide the financial service.
