Train ticket query
I've heard that there is a ticket called the Wayfarer that a friend of a friend uses regularly to travel from Warrington to London for the day. I've googled it and it does exist but I cant really fathom out the terms and conditions. It costs £10 for the day but does this mean £10 each way or return? It says it can be purchased at staffed rail stations or by post but does this mean only in the area it covers, ie greater manchester and surrounding areas. For instance, could i buy 2 tickets and use 1 on a monday, stay overnight and then use the other one to return the next day?

A Wayfarer ticket (on its own) is definitely not valid for travel from Warrington to London.
Here's some information about the Wayfarer ticket on the TfGM website:
http://www.tfgm.com/journey_planning/tickets_wayfarer.cfm
It covers "Greater Manchester and parts of Cheshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Staffordshire and the Peak District".0 -
I would suspect he is using the wayfarer to travel from Warrington to say Macclesfield or Holmes Chapel and back, using another ticket on to London0
