hi can anyone help i am looking to open a new bank account i am with lloyds at the moment and am paying £25 per month and am not seeing any benefit i also want to claim my ppi from lloyds and am worried that they may close my acc after reading up first direct come up well so i applied to them but was turned down no reason given i am in full time employment no debt (only a morgage) no credit cards and a perfect score credit report (which i applied for this weekend and i came back 9.9 i am bemused and angry at being turned down so i have 2 questions 1 does anyone know which are the best banks and has anyone been turned down by a bank for no reason i did phone but got the ususal sorry we cannot help you :mad:

Unfortunately they don't have to provide you with a main current account if they don't want to...either provide you with a clear reason as to why they've decline your application. First Direct account is very difficult to get...maybe try a different provider.0

Probably because you haven't got a recent credit history. You need to use credit cards and pay them regularly to get a good credit history.

Do you actually know what you are getting for your £25?
Secondly claiming back PPI will have no effect whatsoever on your account.
Thirdly if you don't want to pay for a bank account ask them to downgrade one without any charge.
Simples!0
