Buildings Insurance Query

Hi,
My grandfather recently had a house fire, and now that works are complete he needs to obtain buildings insurance.
The main negatives I'm coming up against are:
1) The property had an insurance claim of £85,000 due to a housefire and has just been signed off as all works complete.
2) The house is vacant as he has since been moved in to a home due to ill health.
Can anyone advise on which insurance companies may entertain cover for a situation like this? He is 86, and we know that it's going to be expensive, just need it insured.
Thanks in advance.

There are empty property Insurance Policies, but they are Very expensive and only last about 3 months, they are often used when Probate is being dealt with.
Not sure if it will help in your case, though, I had it through my Solicitor when I was gaining Probate after a relative's demise.

Speak to a Broker.
Not a recommendation but Towergate certainly do longer vacant home insurance but be aware that with these policies that after they have been vacant for X months the requirements change such as draining down the water, blocking up the letterbox etc0 -
