Im very much interested in doing a bit of share buying and selling but havnt got a clue where to start!
anyone know any sites that you can use that are good and trusted? just fancy using a couple of hundred to see how i go on
seems like fun (although i know its serious!)

For £100s dealing charges will be expensive in relation to the amount.

Hoodless Brennan is cheapest at £7 a deal (if you bought £500, and sold it for £500, that would 2.8% fees, plus 0.5% tax).

If you don't mind dealing on a set date, at an unknown price, you could use Halifax Sharebuilder, which will cost you £1.50, and £11.95 to sell ( e.g. 2.7% plus 0.5% tax). If you sell at less than £250, the selling fee is £5.

iii has some good articles too, though again you have to ferret around a bit for them. I like Peter Temple; link here. There are discussion boards there too, with some good contributors, but they are a bit of a faff to use.

Thisismoney is the Mail's web version of its financial pages. There is a surprisingly large amount of useful information there.
