Widescreen monitor but too big...

Very kind and everything, but I have been given a new monitor in work. It is 20" that's width from left to right, not corner to corner. I've done a bit of googling and understand that you can see two documents at the same time on it so far enough it could come in handy.
But at the moment I'm posting to Sage and it's like being in the front row at the picture house. It's just too big. Is there any way of making the view smaller, back to about 12 or 14 inches width of the screen being the viewing area.
Many thanks

Another option may be to get work to swap from one wide-screen to two normal ones.
You can view different items on different screens (it's what I do at work).:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

Wish I could swap. It would appear widescreen is the order of the day, and those who have smaller screens don't need bigger ones.
As I say I expect it will be ok for certain programs but for inputting on Sage it's just doing my eyes no good, head already starting to swim. I may give Sage a ring.0 -
If it's that bad, go talk to the local IT department.
Tell them it's giving you headaches and affecting your eyesight.
It's a simple box to do dual screens that plus into a USB port on the back of the PC.:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:

I confess I don't know Sage at all, but can you not just reduce the Windows default font size and run it in a smaller window (I guess you're running it full screen at the moment)?0

Sorted, if I only had patience. I asked a guy in work and he made it look so easy
So the deal is, the window is already filling the screen, click on the maximise button in the top right hand corner and the window becomes smaller. Then using the mouse put the cursor on the line around the window, it will change from an arrow to a line, left click on the mouse and drag. I can now fiddle with my windows size to my hearts content. See size is important
Thanks for your help. Hope this is of help to others too.0 -
Are you using Windows 7? If so, having two documents on one screen is easy- click on the bar at the very top of the window and press Windows Key + Left at the same time. You can then click on the other window and do the same, except press Windows Key + Right. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Another tip is to put the menu bar (that normally lives at the bottom of the screen) at the right hand side of the screen (click in an empty part and drag+drop)

Haven't had a go at two documents displaying at once yet.
Still bit excited that the window is smaller :j
I just was not coping with it on widescreen while posting transactions, now I'm back up to speed and headache has gone.
Happy days. Now for a lottery win and all will be well.......0
