Warning: inbox.com email service

As this site has helped me out over the years I would like to return the favour and make you aware of the serious problems I have had with the free webmail service 'inbox.com' that threatens to cause serious identity theft grief for any of their customers.
I hope this is the right place to post this.
I have had an inbox.com email account for several years, during which time I have put up with various service outages and unexplained occurrences of lost email. At one point the account would not receive any emails from Facebook for over a month. But I persisted.
Finally when I went to logon the other day I got a message saying that my account had been blocked because of a violation of their rules. It turns out that an IP address in Malaysia had been using my account to send fake business proposal scam mails to thousands of addresses. In trying to solve this problem I was told by inbox.com that I must have a keylogger on my system. Panicked by this I proceeded to fully scan my PC with three different antivirus (Avast, AVG and PrevX) and install a dedicated anti-keylogger (Zemana Antilogger). None of these detected a single threat – not surprising as this is a dedicated business machine - yet having changed my password my inbox.com account was compromised again within 24hrs.
As far as I can tell my account must have been compromised at their end, but I made myself available to help them investigate this security problem further. Their response: I have been told that my account cannot be unblocked. So I have lost access to all my emails, stored files, and most importantly access to the email account used to register with most of the websites I have used over the years. Rather than investigate a security problem that could lead to serious identity theft problems for their customers, they have just discarded me as a customer and swept the problem under the carpet.
If you have an inbox.com account I would recommend moving your data out of it as soon as possible!

The service was FREE - what level of customer service were you expecting to get?
The problem may still be with your machine - try installing Malware Bytes Anti-Malware, as well as Spybot, and run their respective scan utilities (ensure you update their virus/spyware definitions BEFORE running the scans). This won't help with getting you email access back, though."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
