Praise: Eric Sykes

It's just been announced that Eric Sykes has died.

He's been making me and many I know laugh all our lives - although, sadly, we have seen less of him of late.

One of the great performers who has entertained several generations.

I loved him as a kid in the 70's - I didn't really realise he was still with us! Off to find some of his clips on youtube now, this is doubly sad that he has died, and that he didn't carry on creating for so many years.

Yes I thought he was already dead. I think I was getting him mixed up with Norman Wisdom. Another great comedian has gone. I think only Russ Abbot is left now :(

A great performer. I hope that the BBC will have the good sense to have a 'Sykes' night on BBC4, with a selection of his work from over the years.

Yes Please to Sykes Night - some classic episodes plus The Plank plus some film appearances.

His autobiography is a good read too.
I need to think of something new here...
