Extension cable to shed (next to house)

Longterm plan is to have electricity run down to the garage properly, but just wondering about a temporary solution (as garage will probably be rebuilt at some point so might as well hold off until then). I could really do with some extra freezer space, I've been offered a chest freezer but there's no space in the house for it.
We do have a concrete base down right outside the house (from an old coal bunker apparently) and there is an airvent in the wall, right by some inside sockets, that we could pass a wire through. If we were to put a small shed on the base, there would perhaps be an inch or two between the shed wall and house wall, would it be safe to run an extension lead out to the shed (ensuring the shed was completely water-tight of course) to power the freezer?

Yes, and your temporary solution will be exempt from building regs.
It's a good idea to put an integrated RCD plug on the lead.0
