Natwest Advantage Gold Travel Insurance

I have a Natwest Advantage Gold with the travel insurance on - now I know when we travel together we are both covered - but if he travels by himself is he still covered?

Andrew, is "he" your boyfriend? Civil partner? Are you both named on the account? Have you lived together for more than 6 months? or is "he" your son? in which case, age, does he still live with you, is he married?

The wording on the policy is fairly clear though:
This insurance allows all Advantage Gold Account holders and their partners to travel independently of each other throughout the year. All dependent children must be travelling with either the account holder or their partner in order for this insurance to apply.

    Partner is defined as:
    Partner
The person that the account holder lives with at the account holder’s home address in a relationship, whether married or cohabiting, as if husband and wife or civil partners, regardless of gender.
  • Thanks for the reply.

The account is only in my name, although he is my civil partner. To be honest I wasnt sure if he is covered by himself or if he needed to be with me. Obviously we live at the same address.

I only realised last year that even on a sole account your partner was covered.

TBH, its not obvious that you live together just because your married/ civil partners but seeing as you do then yes, he will be covered even when traveling independently of you.

To make absolutely sure you should check your own policy wording just in case the one I found online is out of date
  • I will have to have a look tonight for the policy to see if its changed - although I have had this account since 2007. Mind you as I said I rememebr last year when I called up, about something they told me we were both covered ( albeit traveling together).

    Thanks for your help.
