Want to compare our economy with greece? Unless we gripped the deficit, that was were we were headed. if half the 3 million could be @rsed to go out to work prior to the credit crunch, we wouldnt have so many foreigners now doing service sector jobs for them now would we? We also wouldnt have such a big deficit, as all the money they get paid to do !!!! all wouldnt need to be spent.

You Sir, do not know what you are talking about.

I can see why a conspiracy theorist Chancellor might have some fans amongst certain internet characters.

Osborne's record speaks for itself. Deficit reduction behind schedule, double-dip recession and nearly 3 million unemployed. I could go on.

This would be as compared with the glittering success of Mr 'no more boom and bust' Brown and his star-studded accomplices, would it?

Perhaps you should learn some economics yourself before judging the merit of what Osborne is saying.

Because bluntly you have been proven wrong over the last couple of years.

You are living on a different planet. The idea that there is a future without retrenchment is just fanciful.

Most of them are useless yes.

Interesting that Tucker says , in response to known "lowballing":-

We thought the market was malfunctioning rather any thing dishonest going on....

I just love all these new double meanings

We could have controlled immigration and coerced those unemployed back to work, if you allow them to be bumped down the queue it doesn't do anybody any favours.

No doubt many immigrants come in with a better skill set and some may be very necessary but those on benefits don't go away.

Oh I disagree, Ed Balls is a despicable character with no scruples or shame whatsoever.

How utterly rich of him to talk about playing party politics when he is THE worst offender.

More humiliation for Georgie and his fans, as even his own side (Andrea Leadsom, a Conservative member of the Treasury select committee) urge him to apologise.

Will he man up and apologise ?

Perhaps he could send that young Chloe Smith to do his dirty work.

What a despicable individual he is.

George Osborne made a fairly obvious insinuation that Ed Balls was involved in Libor fixing.

This 'more questions to answer' defence is a load of tosh and Balls isn't going to let up. If he's got any sense he would apologise - a qualified apology would help him put this latest c**k up behind him.

Osborne does seem to be somewhat accident prone and shows little sign of developing into a heavyweight politician. I bet the knives are out for him in the background.

I guess the temptation was too great for Osborne- I wish he'd shut up til he was sure. And now the smug thug Balls has the moral high ground and his face is even more unbearable. Do other countries manage to have politicians who are less hateful than ours?

Agreed, he is a despicable and accident prone (being charitable) chancellor. All I'll say is hopefully David will have the sense to replace him with someone who actually knows what they are doing such as Andrea Leadsom, David Laws, Ken Clarke etc.
