treadmill and hoped that some of you MSE'ersmay have one and could then tell me what model you have and if it is any good.
The only requirements that I have is that I can run on it, I don't want a fandangled thing that has every device known to man on it I just want to be able to run
Any help and advice given will be most welcome

only advice i can really give is avoid the ones that arent electric (ie the ones that only move when you do) like the plague
a treadmill is one of those personal things where only you really know what features are most important to you. i recommend checking out a local gym to have a go on theirs before you splash out, see what works for you and what doesnt.
personally, i would want one with somewhere for my water bottle, a clear display screen, several different modes, and a heart monitor. i wouldnt bother with the incline option as i never use it at the gym - its hard enough running on the flat! but its different strokes for different folks. are you used to using running machines? do you want it more for walking or for running?know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0 -
I just want it for running....... I have always ran in a gym but wanting to save money. I have seen one but I am resisting jumping in feet first and trying to do some research ..... but it is on offer with £180 off...and it is getting hard to resist

If you want to save money then stick on some shorts and step out of the house. You can run for freeThis country is called Great Britain. It would be called Amazing Britain if it wasn't for people like you pulling the average down0

I agree.... but road running is a different thing, harder on your joints not to mention the fumes and the fact that everyone will see my boobs wobble when I run (despite a darn good sports bra!!!)
so I know but I am being kind to my joints and doing it in private

There are often treadmills advertised on our local freecycle pages - for FREE!Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!0

I have had cheap treadmills and basically they were nothing more than glorified coat stands ... definitely do not touch a non-electric one .. useless for jogging. Last year I bought a Bremshey (the Tracer or Control .. can't remember which) having read up on them quite a bit. One of the things that many people mentioned was to ensure that it would run smoothly (with your weight on it) at 0.5 mph since this shows the quality of the motor.
Another little pointer is make sure that it will go into your preferred room ... the Bremshey came pretty much fully assembled, it weighs 110Kg and we had to get it up stair and ultimately have to take off the door and part of the door frame to get it into the room.

I have been looking and researching for about two months.... never found a free one in the ads, however, now I have bought one there will be loads!!!!!
I figured that as the one I bought was almost £500 originally and still sells upward of £400 in most places that it was a fairly good one..... It has all the features that I want.... and it is going in our garage so space and weight shouldn't be an issue

Just read that you bough a York (that's what I get for replying to the OP instead of rading the thread first
). My brother has had several pieces of York equipment and has been very happy with them. When one did go faulty he contacted York and they responded well and sorted his problem out (although it took a couple of weeks to get a new unit shipped to him).
