How much to be a named driver?

I wanted to be added to my boyfriend's mother's car insurance as a named driver.

I was once charged £60 for being added for just a few weeks, and that is when I was under 25. What's the going rate for for being 25+ named driver with 6 yrs driving experience and no claims?

I actually added my sister to a car policy once because it was cheaper to have her as a named driver on the policy (in addition to me as the policyholder) than just me as the policyholder alone!

Call and ask as the saint suggests. Cost me about a tenner to add my boyfriend on for the year, although a bit older than 25, 20 years experience but no no claims.

My brother is 24, he has my mum (44 with 15 yrs no claims and no convictions) as a named driver which reduces his policy by approx £200. What i am highlighting here is that it may not cost you anything. As othes have said, just ring and ask.
