Similarly if they want to feed them mcdonalds three times a day and dress them up like glamour models from age three and enter them for every contest in the country.

What exactly is your point? ;)

I could ask you the same question!

What has McDonalds got to do with me buying phones for my Children?

    Your point being?

If someone wants to spend their money on phones for their children, that's their choice.

    Exactly George Michael !

Both myself and my Hubby work for our money and so can (and do) spend it as we see fit.

Azari...when I start asking YOU to buy my Children their Xmas gifts then you really WILL have reason to pass comment!

    Oops!

Seem to have touched a nerve.

I just found it highly amusing that someone would post about spending hundreds of pounds quite unnecessarily every year, on a money saving site. :rotfl:

Ive got a friend who works for CPW... he's a lovely guy and I used to work with him, but he is having a lot of trouble adjusting to the CPW style. His manager berates him and the rest of the team constantly for not selling enough insurance, for not selling enough of the featured contracts etc.

As far as that manager is concerned, never EVER sell PAYG, or he'll be sending you facebook messages telling you how crap you are at your job.

If that branch has a similar manager, I can tell why the staff didn't want to bother with a PAYG sale.

It's amazing how a difference in managerial approach affects shops though. I've been in some phone shops where management "empower" (i hate that term but can't think of a better one) the staff to beat targets, and it's usually a pleasant atmosphere.

You then have managers who belittle and berate their staff for not making all the targets, and the staff are disinterested, and are likely simply there until they've found another job. The sad thing is the managers in those stores won't do anything to change their ways, they'll simply continue to abuse their staff until they get promoted elsewhere.

The Peter Principle applies, where staff get promoted to their level of incompetance. Or it could be a simple sideways promotion :)

    Hi

I just felt I had to say I have always had great service, whether it's
been buying ( always PAYG), or sorting a problem, they have always been helpful. informative, polite and patient.:)
mum2one- I'm sorry you had a bad experience . This is truly appalling treatment!
I totally agree with a strongly worded letter to head office!
