Hi, my PC recently had a clean out and ever since then I think I may have done something to the way my NTL broadband runs.
Anyhow I needed the NTL installation CD (I have a silver NTL cable box) so I rang up NTL who said they would send it out within 5-7 days. This was 3 weeks ago.
I rang again and they apologised and said they would send it out within 5-7 days, this was two weeks ago.
I rang AGAIN and the customer service manager apologised and said he would personally send it out within 5 days, this was last week.
Any how I still don’t have the CD!!.
I have checked on line and can't find a downloadable CD.
I don’t suppose anyone out there knows where I can get it from/ download it from??
Thanks.

What operating system are you using?
If you are using Windows XP, you do not need the CD as it will auto-detect the settings when you start Internet Explorer.0 -
I thought so as well however once i reinstall windows it will ask me to register for which i need the cd.0

If you have access to the Internet on the PC you want to register then try going to the following address:
https://autoreg.autoregister.net/
I was running Windows 98 on my PC and did a fresh install of Windows XP a few weeks ago. I did not bother registering because when I started Interenet Explorer, it connected me to the Internet without any problems and have been using it trouble free since then.
If you are using Windows 98 or ME then you need to register with the CD. However, if you are using Windows XP, it will detect all settings when you open the Internet browser.
Hope this helps.0 -
Register what? If you have changed your network card and need to register a new MAC address, you can use this http://start.ntl This link should be invoked from the computer connected to set-top box (or cable modem) within 5 minutes of restart (you need to switch your computer off, restart the set-top box, switch your computer back on and use the link straight away).0

Oh, I thought that after you do a fresh install you have to put in your user name and pin or something like that again. (I remeber doing it a long time ago.) If XP just picks up the broadband and line, then surely I could just take my broadband silver box to a differnt houser and plug it in, and then just begin surfing??0

you do
It is your PID and a password all on your original letter0 -
So will I need the CD to enter my user name and PID?0
-
O and I have both written down already.0

No, you will not need a CD. Just do as I suggested in my previous post, and you'll be prompted to enter your details on that site (or, for that matter, you should get that prompt while trying to access any website from an unregistered computer).0
