Homeowners dinner party

Well if it's only been running since January I wouldn't expect it to be massive - growing any business in this climate and you're doing well.

Homeowners dinner parties - oh I remember lots of those in the eighties! (((shudder)))
Lots of smug couples (cohabiting, of course, so as to get the 2 x mortgage interest tax relief) gathered around a fondue pot discussing how the value of their semi had risen £2k in a month.0 -
I would turn up in a 05 Ford Focus with a bottle of Vodka.
I am running a Video productions company, nothing massive but my number of clients is growing quite quickly.
1 Month to go until the big day, can't wait.
Thats interesting. I have a programme called Magix movie editor which is quite good. What do you use? if you don't mind me asking.0 -
I don't know why some people get so nasty - all I did was host a dinner party and we all got talking about finances - judging by some posters replies this is not uncommon.

This is true, on the flip side I really wouldn't fancy a party which celebrates more young people stuggling and wouldn't want to spend time with people who think its good news.

Really?
British consumers are saving less than they were a year ago, with almost a
quarter saving nothing at all, according to a survey.
The average monthly saving is now £87, down from £100 a year ago and £95 over the winter, according to National Savings & Investments' (NS&I) quarterly savings survey, which indicates people are fed-up with the lack of decent returns following three years of record low interest rates.
The 23% of people who saved nothing in the second quarter of 2012 marked an increase from the 17% failing to save between January and March – an increase of about 3 million people nationwide, according to NS&I.
"It is no surprise that many people are saving less," said Andrew Hagger of
Moneynet.co.uk. "With many savings rates still historically very low, those with surplus funds are wisely using their money to pay down expensive credit card, overdraft and mortgage borrowing."

Its also been suggested that liquidity levels at banks are more healthy, but they simply dont want to lend as the emperor has been revealed to have no clothes and are massively risk adverse after the last crunch.
They have healthier reserves as stipulate dby th eregulator . This probably puts them back to where they were in the sensible times before insanity took over.
Why would they want to suddenly splurge themselves back into the mess they are just crawling out of. Unless they are told to of course by politicians looking for brownie points.
Even if they did want to lend what evidence that would be borrowers have the ability to repay?"If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

We only have dinner parties for people proven to not be in negative equity. Full statement of accounts or no entry.
We were sick of all these people who said they were rich, but turned out to be chavs. Disgusting false advertising is you ask me.0 -
Pearcy - we have different views on where house prices should be - we will just have to agree to disagree on this one.0
