Who cares...? If you own a home, just enjoy it..Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

The OP does, he cares a lot. He cares so much he has made dozens of sock accounts from which to spew forth literally thousands of words of inane rubbish about renting vs owning.
He and his 7,000 duplicate disciples are one of the reasons this poorly moderated forum only has about 20 actual human beings who ever read it.0 -
It was the weekly Chip Supper meeting, in the car park of the trailer park.... starting when the chip van arrives.Graham_Devon wrote: »A "homeowners" dinner party!?
Did you really all call it that? Rather than just saying "fancy coming round to my dinner party" you specifically stated "fancing coming round to my homeowners dinner party"?
It must have been a hoot!
Reminds me of primary school and "do you wanna be in my club?!"0 -

We all think that a massive boom is coming, plenty of cash is stored up in people's banks, companies all ready for a mother of all spends
I'm wondering what is the basis of the belief in a massive boom coming. Please explain.0 -
I throw these parties all the time. As soon as we bought a house, we stopped speaking to our friends who rent. Must be seen to be associating with the right type after all. Our homeowner friends turn up with a rather nice bottle of Chianti while we found that our friends who rented tended to arrive in their S-reg Ford Fiestas with a 6-pack of Stella. *shudder*
Percy - just noticed your sig - what type of business are you running? Congratulations on that and the impending nuptials.

Yes liquidity levels at banks are healthier but this is as a result of legislation requiring them to hold more cash. They arent allowed to lend out this cash on their balance sheets. For those that doubt this, have a look at a couple of major companies balance sheets. They are all hoarding cash. More sense here than you would believe.
Its also been suggested that liquidity levels at banks are more healthy, but they simply dont want to lend as the emperor has been revealed to have no clothes and are massively risk adverse after the last crunch.
IF they sort the euro crisis out, could be argued that is the last major issue dealt with. The only last restrain on demand will be fiscal tightening across the pond. If Obama gets back in, all bets are off. Q-E me up baby!
The night is darkest just before the dawn...
You mention the euro crisis being the last issue. This is far from being sorted out. In fact, the "last" issue you talk about is actually the issue that could bring everything to a crunch and actually be to us what the iceberg was to the hull of the Titanic. To put it another way, Europe is up poo river minus an oar. The night may be darkest just before the dawn (which in itself isnt true) but we are no where near as dark as this night could get.0 -

Easy to explain. Despite people being unable to service loans at current levels of debt, people will take on more debt they cant pay to buy things that wont get taken off them.
If we have another boom, basically no-one will pay for anything. Auto default without penalty.
Or the poster could be smoking bath sealant.0 -

I would turn up in a 05 Ford Focus with a bottle of Vodka.
I am running a Video productions company, nothing massive but my number of clients is growing quite quickly.
1 Month to go until the big day, can't wait.
