import tax/VAT question?

I just bought some stuff from strawberrynet.com. It was a US site, but payment in GBP. It arrived today, with a sweden post mark, a customs declaration of £36 and an UK border agency-postal charge sticker (£15.20)
Now, I understand this, but it says in big letters at the bottom that parcel should not be released until charges are paid (and I have the parcel)
Also there is a stamp over the sticker in 2 places saying freepost item, and this stamp is on the front of the package also.
Very confused as stamp/postmark is sweden. So have they changed their minds about the charges, or am I going to get a demand for payment?
oh, it also has a sticker saying Goods not fulfilling the conditions prescribed by Articles 9 and 10 of the Treaty establishing the European Economic Community

Well Sweden is in the EU, maybe that's where Strawberry.net have their European delivery hub. But anyway if you look at the website's customer service page - http://uk.strawberrynet.com/customer-service/faq/#21 - you'll see that they promise to bear the VAT/duty cost in most cases, so it doesn't look as if you're going to be asked for any more money.0

Yeah, I'm just confused because it says charges of £15.20, then package must not be delivered without paying, but I have it.0
