I've dropped a boob with Cash converters online - help needed please

HI everyone, I have dropped such a gangly boob I could cry.:(:(
I had two screens open for a camera on the cash converters site both the same price and same postage, however the one I want comes with a lens. Unfortunately I was distracted with the kids and bought the wrong one.:eek::eek::eek: the one without the lens.
I cannot find anyway of cancelling the order.:eek::eek: It does state that payment will not go through until it's dispatched and the status is awaiting dispatch. I have emailed them but obviously no one there until tomorrow. I am such a fool. Now I run the risk of the other camera going. I am even debating buying this one also so they can see I have bought two. Or is this just a bad idea and I might end up with 2 camera's.
Any help appreciated. Will they be able to change the order do you think? This mistakes going to cost me about £70 in a lens.:eek::eek:

You can cancel your order and send the unwanted item back (probably at your cost) for a full refund if you cancel in writing, email is ok, within seven working days of delivery.
This is a statutory right under Distance Selling regulations.
Their T&Cs acknowledge this.
In theory you should be able to cancel before the thing is sent to you, but that may be difficult if you cannot contact them.
May be best to buy both cameras, and just send the one back that you don't want.
In my opinion it is worth using Special Delivery to send the unwanted one back.0 -
Sounds like you purchased it online.
If this is correct then buy the second one and email them requesting a cancellation. You are afforded additional rights by law when purchasing at a distance - you can cancel the order up to 7 working days after receiving the goods and receive a full refund.0 -
Thanks everyone, the only problem is I cannot afford to buy both camera's. I just wanted to put both in my basket. Sorry, yes arcon this was online.
They state in their terms that they don't take monies out until the item is shown as dispatched. Me being clever ( the card is a prepayment one) has just bought something cheap on ebay to make sure the card won't go through, it declined, so they have took the money. Which is a bit naughty.:eek:0 -
Oh and now I have to buy the ebay item.0

Wow.
I simply cannot fathom how you work.
Should of phoned CashConverters instead of asking here, or read their T&C about returns or even read the sticky at the top of this forum.
But in short if CC say they can't do anything just inform them you wish to cancel under the Distance Selling Regulations, send the item back/take it back to a CC shop if allowed and repurchase the camera&Lens.0 -

Do you work for Currys?0 -
Give the shop a ring first thing in the morning and ask to cancel, were the cameras at the same branch ?0

If they don't take the money until dispatch, they will 'authorise' the payment during checkout then charge it on dispatch. When they autorise it, it will not take the money but will effectively ring fence it until the authorisation expires or is called on up on dispatch.0
