Grattans boo boo

a colleauge pointed me in the direction of a not to be missed deal this morning.

Grattan's were advertsing a Samsung netbook for £18. yes £18.

the picture of the item was a girl wearing earmuffs so it would appear an obvious pricing error.

i made a purchase and took screen prints of the transaction and paid by debit card.

the "offer" is now no longer on the website and i have a confirmation email of the sale.

can i honestly expect them to honour this or is ther anyway i can make enough fuss for them to honour it and get the netbook and not a pair of ear muffs?

It would back fire if they sent you the ear muffs and insisted you returned them at your own cost :)

How could they insist it be returned at OPs expense?
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

i recieved the following email today:

Catalogue Number: 840784 Cosy Ear Muffs £18.00

Regarding your order for the above item, this order has been cancelled.

The Ear Muffs have had the product description loaded incorrectly, this is an obvious error and if you still require the ear muffs you can re-order the item.

    This states;
"We have taken every care to ensure that the items on our website and in our catalogues are correct. We will not be held liable for any errors or inaccuracies which may occur despite our care and attention and will not be obliged to supply goods at any inaccurate price."

i have sent a reply advising the error was not obvious to me and that according to a site that specialises in on line trading the seller should make customers aware of their t&c's during the purchase process such a "tick to say you agree" type of thing. they dont have this so i am "unaware" at the time of purchase.

i want my laptop for the advertised price or some form of compensation other wise a formal complaint will be made.

wait and see i suppose. nothing ventured nothing gained

I guess you have not yet got as far as post #17 in that thread I linked to earlier?

I wouldn't waste any more time on this if I were you.

They made a mistake and have realised. All they legally have to do is put you back in the position you were in before your order which is with your £18.99 back in your pocket. They have done this so you have nobody to complain to and nothing to complain about

Depends on the variety of muff I'm sure. A lot of muffs are fake and cheap, other muffs are of a much better quality and worth paying that bit extra for.

£18 is a bit on the cheap side for quality muffs I fear.
