Price comparison
If i do a price comparison now will it compare prices at the moment? or will it compare it with the new prices taken into account????
I am wanting to swap but waiting till Martin says its best to do so, but after a gas bill of nearly £300 i can't leave it too long.
Thanks

It will take into account the new prices for the companies who have released them, and the old ones for those who haven't.0

It depends on who you are with at the moment. Are you with a company that hasn't announced a price drop, or one that has?
Even if you are with BG, who I believe has dropped their price by 11%, it will only save you £33. A nice amount, I admit, but I think you are looking for a bigger saving than that.
Don't depend on a comparison site too much, they are not always right.
Before you do anything you should look into reducing the amount of gas you use.
it might be worth posting who you get your gas from, what region you are in and how much gas you used, and how much you were charged per unit or kWh. Someone may may be able to come up with a cheaper supplier.0 -
I'm with Npower at the moment and live in East Yorkshire, don't know off hand about how much gas i used or the cost i just know it was a lot. But it does seem alot of people i have spoke to have had big gas bills this time, suppose thats just how it is at the minute.
One thing i do at the minute is pay by quarterly bill, which once i swap or decide to stay with npower i will be changing to monthly d/d. But don't want to be swapping yet if its not the best time to do so.
Thanks for your help you two    very much appreciated0 -
Hi there,
Martin is right, with everyone messing about with their prices its possibly not the best time to switch. I assume the only discount you get is for dual fuel and are on the Standard tariff?
To be honest though I would recommend you do look at switching now as there is so much you could save by managing your account online and paying by mdd.
Seeing as you only need to stay with a supplier for at least 28 days then there is nothing stopping you from switching again if you find a better deal.0 -
