No right turn Rule

I got a ticket in westminster for doing an illegal right turn. I appealed as i couldn't see the no right turn on the left of the road as it was obscured by many lorries. Westminster council wrote back saying all well and good but on the road their were clear signs ahead only. Do both have to be visible to be enforceable? thanks john

Do you know whether the signs indicating "Ahead Only" (white arrow on a blue background) were displayed on an oblong or round background? Strictly speaking the sign on a round board is "Ahead Only" and is directive whereas that on an oblong board indicates a one way street - which would not necessarily preclude a left or right turn.
As far as I am aware there is no requirement that the signs need to be combined to enforce a no right turn.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Is that right, I only get a lovely view of a river.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

It's no right turn there as it's a few yards from the incredibly busy Hyde Park Corner so turning right causes disruption.
The google earth picture was taken circa 5.30am to 6am hence less traffic0 -
