wftc help - panicking big time

I have just updated my WFTC and I am panicking so much. The figure I gave means I am not entitled to WFTC no more so does this mean the money they paid me for the past year will have to be repaid to them? Will I be taken to court?

do you mean that you wont be entitled from april12/12 or that you ypu figures show that you werent entitled last year (april11/12)?0

Depends on how much the overpayment is. If it not too much they might deduct it from this years award, but they do have to leave you enough to live on, so it is always worth seeing what they say first, checking figures are correct and then contacting them to sort it out. They were always reasonable to us with our £3.5k overpayment from 03/4. Have just repaid last amount, so am waiting for reinstatment of basic CTC.0

From April 2011/12, I think. I dont understand it all but what me and my partner earned, I dont think we would have been entitled to it. I have wrote to them separately to explain this but have not heard anything. I havent heard anything from my first call to them nearly 2 weeks ago.
My partner wasnt even with me throughout the past years but as it is so inconsistent I never updated my claim as I didnt want to owe a lot of money when he returns etc.
We are emigrating at the end of Sept, I am so worried that if they are investigating me they wont let me leave the country. i am willing to pay back any overpayment etc
Just am getting ill with worry.
The whole thing has always confused me and now im so scared0 -

First of all, stop worryingProblems with tax credits happen all the time because it is so complicated. It will be sorted out and if you have an overpayment then you will just pay it back. They will accept a repayment plan. Happens to lots of people.
Am a little confused by your remark about your partner not being with you during the past years. Can you tell us what you mean? did you put his income down when he wasn't living with you? or did you just put your income and he was living with you some of the time?
Whatever the problem is it will get sorted - might take a whilebut nothing terrible is going to happen.

I just put down his earnings, I think. Thing is I cant even remember when he left and when he was back so I just put what he earned. Thank you for your post, but I am still worried, scared and panicking, I dont know how to stop worrying.
Glad they will accept a repayment plan. Just want it dealt with you know.0 -
The figure I gave on the phone is wrong also, but I since wrote to them to give the correct figure.
Still hasnt stopped me from worrying even more. It will be 2 weeks this wed that I havent heard anything.0 -

Some people have waited a couple of months or more.“How people treat you becomes their karma; how you react becomes yours.”0

Are you serious? Have these people then just had their amended claim or all been investigated? Is it the longer it takes for the letter, the more chance I have of being investigated?0

There's a £10k disregard for income increases so if your income went up by less than £10k you shouldn't have an overpayment, not from last year anyway. You might have an overpayment from April this year though.
If you post your income details for the 2010/11 and 2011/12 tax years plus circumstances (kids, childcare, disabilites etc) we can work out what you should have got.0
